President and CEO | Softtek
Blanca Treviño is currently President and Chief Executive Officer of Softtek, S.A. de C.V. (Softtek). Under her leadership, Softtek has become a leading information technology services company in Latin America. As President, Blanca has positioned Softtek as a key part of the Mexican economy, opening its doors to the United States as a provider of IT services. This has shaped what is known today as Nearshore, Softtek’s trademarked delivery model, and a term widely used in the industry to define outsourcing services provided by countries within close proximity.
Throughout her 25-year career, Blanca has gained international recognition as a promoter of the IT services industry in and from emerging countries. To help increase the participation of Latin America in the IT field, she has collaborated with various governments in the early stages of development. Blanca has been on the Board of Directors for Wal-Mart de México, S.A.B. de C.V. since 2006, and has been a board member for several universities and non-profit organizations. She has also been a frequent presenter in national and international forums related to entrepreneurialism, information technology and the role of women in business. She has participated in forums at the World Bank, Inter-American Development Bank, Kellogg School of Management, Harvard Business School and London Business School.
Beyond the IT industry, she is identified by several media publications as one of the most influential executives in Mexico and Latin America. Blanca was the first woman to be inducted into the prestigious IAOP (International Association of Outsourcing Providers) Outsourcing Hall of Fame and has been named one of the Top 25 Businesswomen by the Latin Business Chronicle, and a Rising Star on Fortune’s list of the 50 Most Powerful Women, among other accolades. In 2014, Blanca was named Mexico’s Woman of the Year by the National Women of the Year Foundation.
Originally from Monterrey, Mexico, Blanca studied Computer Science at the Instituto Technológico de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey (ITESM). Her significant experience in the IT industry, coupled with her experience as an entrepreneur, brings important insight to both the Board and management. Blanca is a member of the Institute of Corporate Directors and the National Association of Corporate Directors.
